Wanted. Travel advisor. Must be prepared to travel around the world, take part in adventure activities and write blog posts. Benefits include free accommodation at each stop. The successful applicant will be supplied with camera equipment and be expected to take lots of pictures.
Is this a dream job or does it really exist? Well, for one lucky person it could be their new day job. Price comparison website Comparethemarket.com has just announced a new competition on its site with the winner being offered this amazing opportunity.
Naturally, there are several catches. The biggest one being that you can only enter the competition if you’re a final year university student based in the UK. And you have to be over 21.
The competition organisers have also included a novel element too; the lucky winner will receive £5,000 for their student union ‘to use how they best see fit’. We spend a lot of time with university student unions and so have a pretty good idea what they’ll do with this windfall. (Arranging a massive farewell party will probably be high on their list of priorities).
The lucky winner will be expected to send pictures and videos at the end of each month with a blog post written ‘on the antics experienced’. At this point we do have to ask whether they actually mean this? Clearly they don’t know students quite so well as we do, particularly those armed with expensive camera equipment and regular access to the internet.
Luckily all our staff are in full time employment so can’t apply, but if you know someone who is eligible, pass on this link to them https://www.comparethemarket.com/travel-insurance/content/travel-advisor-competition/
